Message from the Director

Welcome to McMaster’s Community Engagement Website. Our goal is to provide you with information about our work in and with the community and to help you search out faculty, staff, and student groups that may reflect your interests or support your initiatives.

Whether you are a parent searching for a children’s camp, a community member interested in a lecture or musical event, a group desiring help with research, or an organization wanting to offer students jobs, education or service opportunities, we hope this website makes it easier to find out about the University and the many people who work and live here.

McMaster is committed to being a good neighbour.

This involves building on many of the strong connections the students, staff and faculty already have with the greater Hamilton-Burlington area. However, it also means removing some of the barriers to more and deeper relationships. It means that McMaster will be sharing some of its resources with communities and that the university community will benefit from learning in, from and with people in the greater Hamilton-Burlington communities.

Although we are focused on local engagement, we also recognize that we are connected to the global community and that many of our partnerships are and will cross local, provincial and national boundaries.

We hope to make this website a portal into the University and its many exciting activities and interesting people.
